At Hobson Leavy we feel giving something back to the community that supports us is not just optional, but essential. Our team are personally involved in giving their time to community organisations.

Carrie Hobson was previously Chief Executive of the St Joseph’s Mercy Hospice Foundation and remains closely involved in fundraising for the Foundation as well as giving her time to the Hospice itself.

Stephen Leavy was a member of the Board of Trustees for the First Foundation for over nine years.

In addition we also commit to undertaking a number of pro bono executive searches each year for community organisations, giving our time and skill free of charge to ensure these entities can identify and attract talented individuals who will contribute to the organisation’s ongoing success.

Each December Hobson Leavy also makes a financial donation to a community organisation.

Partnerships

Aotearoa Circle

Hobson Leavy is proud to be a partner of The Aotearoa Circle, a unique partnership of public and private sector leaders, established to preserve New Zealand’s natural resources and ensure economic prosperity for our future generations. In July, The Aotearoa Circle launched Toitū Tahua: Centre for Sustainable Finance. Toitū Tahua aims to deliver the Sustainable Finance Forum’s 2030 roadmap for a sustainable financial system here in Aotearoa.

In support of Toitū Tahua’s mission, Hobson Leavy carried out a pro-bono search in partnership with The Aotearoa Circle to find their Chief Executive Officer. We understood appointing the right individual would be critical to guide the future of sustainable finance in New Zealand and the successful preservation of our natural resources. Following an extensive search, The Aotearoa Circle and Hobson Leavy are delighted to announce that Jo Kelly has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer who will be leading the Centre’s work. Hobson Leavy is proudly Climate Positive, certified through Ekos. We are committed to fighting the climate crisis, keeping our emissions low and actively seeking ways to reduce these further. We have already measured and offset 120% of our carbon footprint.

We are also proud partners of Chapter Zero New Zealand, where we will support them through guiding and supporting directors and board members, to identify and attract leaders who are alive to the climate change challenge. We will bring our expertise in appointing leaders to ensuring New Zealand’s board directors have the climate at the forefront of their values and committed to action.
