As the organisation enters its next phase of growth, the Board is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Pou Matua | Chief Executive Officer.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead an organisation of national significance.
Reporting to the Board, the Pou Matua will lead Tū Ātea through a critical phase of evolution, transitioning the organisation from an acquisition-stage entity into a mature, kaupapa-led, integrated and self-sustaining enterprise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the long-term strategic direction of Tū Ātea
- Strengthening commercial performance and sustainable profitability.
- Integrating multiple operating businesses into a cohesive organisation.
- Building leadership capability, organisational maturity and scalable systems.
- Growing the influence of Tū Ātea across telecommunications, technology, infrastructure and emerging digital sectors.
- Strengthening relationships with iwi, Māori organisations, government, industry and strategic partners.
- Ensuring commercial growth remains grounded in kaupapa Māori
About You
You will be an accomplished executive leader with experience leading complex organisations through growth, transformation and organisational maturity.
You may have gained your experience within technology, telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, digital services, professional services or other similarly complex sectors.
Most importantly, you will bring:
- Proven CEO or enterprise-scale leadership experience.
- Authentic engagement with Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori.
- A commitment to Māori economic development and intergenerational impact.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience leading organisational transformation and integration.
- The ability to operate effectively in complex stakeholder environments.
- A track record of building high-performing teams and cultures.
- Strategic vision combined with disciplined execution.
Experience working with iwi, Māori organisations or kaupapa-led environments will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of telecommunications, digital infrastructure, connectivity, spectrum or emerging technology sectors.
