Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rachel Leota to Deputy Secretary Regulatory & Identity Services for the Department of Internal Affairs.
Rachel brings extensive experience in the public sector, having risen to the position of Deputy Chief Executive and led large-scale service delivery teams.
Most recently, she has served as Deputy Chief Executive, Tamariki and Whānau at Oranga Tamariki. In this significant role, Rachel has been leading a team of over 2,600 staff across eight regions and more than fifty sites.
Prior to joining Oranga Tamariki, Rachel spent 18 years at the Department of Corrections. She joined in 2004 in a policy role and went on to hold several senior leadership positions, including National Commissioner—overseeing all prison and community corrections operations—and Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Finance, Planning and Assurance.
