Hobson Leavy is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachael Newsome to the role of Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel for First NZ Capital.
Rachael comes to the role from Icebreaker where she is General Counsel & Strategist. Prior to this she was in London as General Counsel with StudyGroup International, before which she spent five years with NZX as Head of Direct Products, Corporate Counsel, and Lawyer. Her earlier career includes legal roles with Barclays Capital in London, and Bell Gully. Rachael also recently spent 18 months as a Future Director with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
Rachel has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Victoria University of Wellington, and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
