Hobson Leavy is delighted to announce that Laura Valiant has been appointed to the Executive team as Chief Legal & Governance Officer for Southern Cross Health Society and Head of Governance for Southern Cross Group.
Laura holds dual admission, as a Barrister & Solicitor New Zealand and a Solicitor in the United Kingdom. Laura practiced locally at law firm DLA and New York firm Kaye Scholer before establishing her in-house legal career at some of the world’s leading banks, where she has acted in Executive, Legal and Risk Management roles.
Laura joins Southern Cross from Westpac NZ, where most recently she was Head of Risk, Compliance and Conduct within the bank’s commercial distribution arm, the Institutional and Business Banking Division.
