With a vision for “a land transport system connecting people, products and places for a thriving Aotearoa”, the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is a Crown Entity responsible for managing the land transport system. Playing delivery, investment, planning, leadership and regulatory roles within the land transport system, it is also currently delivering one of the largest capital programmes in this country on behalf of the Crown. The role will also develop and maintain investment frameworks and tools, approve significant investment decisions, and lead medium-term investment planning.
The appointee will be a strategic investment professional with experience managing large, complex portfolios and a strong understanding of investment models. They will bring credibility in engaging with Ministers and central agencies, and demonstrate the ability to lead change, uplift capability and create a culture of high performance. Knowledge of, or a commitment to Te Ao Māori, and tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics or a related field are expected. The role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.
