Group Chief Executive Officer – Switched on Group (KĀ TE RAMA)

-
Opportunities

Switched On Group (SOG) is a whānau and iwi-owned construction, facilities maintenance and property services business with a proud history in Aotearoa. With more than 45 years’ experience, SOG has become a trusted partner to private sector, government, iwi, and community organisations. Following the recent acquisition of PAE New Zealand, the Group now employs around 500 kaimahi and generates revenues of ~$200M.

SOG is entering an exciting new phase – uniting two businesses and shaping a single, values-driven entity with ambitious growth plans across infrastructure, facilities management, construction, and property services.

We are now seeking a Group Chief Executive Officer to lead this transformation. Reporting to the Board, the Group CEO will unify leadership teams, embed a future-focused strategy, and balance commercial growth with cultural integrity. Success will be measured not only in financial outcomes, but in advancing the mana and wellbeing of the communities SOG serves.

We are looking for a seasoned executive with experience leading complex organisations through change, ideally in the contracting, construction, or infrastructure sectors. You will bring commercial acumen, credibility with stakeholders, and a values-centred leadership approach. Experience working with iwi or purpose-driven organisations will be a strong advantage.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a kaupapa-driven business at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. The role can be based anywhere in New Zealand. However, the expectation is that the Group CEO role will live in Christchurch or Wellington for the first 12-24 months to forge relationships with the leadership teams and business.
