Ergo Consulting (Ergo) is a New Zealand owned engineering consultancy, specialising in the power and energy sector. A leader in its field, Ergo is a preferred supplier of electrical, civil and structural engineering design and advice to its clients  such as Transpower, electricity distribution companies, and large industrial players. Founded in 2003, the business has enjoyed strong growth and now employs over 100 staff across offices in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Wellington and Christchurch.

 

Reporting to the Ergo Board of Directors, the Chief Executive will be responsible for the operational delivery and strategic direction of the business. They will lead Ergo through its next phase of growth, building on strong foundations and capitalising on new opportunities to meet rising demand. The CE will lead and develop a high-performing, engaged team while driving operational efficiencies. Externally, they will champion Ergo as New Zealand’s first choice provider of engineering design services, maintaining credible, high-trust partnerships with key stakeholders. As a key partner to the Board, the CE will provide robust reporting and clear communication on business performance, market trends, and risk management.

 

The successful candidate will bring seasoned people leadership capabilities and experience engaging with a Board of Directors. With a strong understanding of professional services, the CE will be able to optimise Ergo’s structure for future growth and identify resourcing challenges inherent in a fast-growing firm. They will be a natural relationship-builder, able to engage widely with a broad spectrum of stakeholder groups – both internally and externally. They will be strategic and commercially astute, holding a track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement, as well as operational execution and driving projects to completion. Professional services leadership experience is preferred. A robust understanding of New Zealand’s energy and power sector will be highly advantageous; ideally the incoming candidate will bring .
