Hobson Leavy is excited to announce that Annie Murray has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for the New Zealand Film Commission.
Annie Murray has enjoyed a long career championing New Zealand stories on screen. Her most recent role has been as Head of Sky NZ Originals.
Annie offers twenty-three years’ experience in New Zealand’s screen industry, including a stint at funding agency NZ On Air. She has broad experience across content development, commissioning and production, and understands the nuances of partnering with production houses and creatives to identify New Zealand’s “hidden gems” and bring untold indigenous stories to life on the local and international stage. Annie has commissioned content across drama, children’s television, and non-fiction in both te reo Māori and English.
Annie brings an in depth understanding and practical experience in content development and production in NZ’s screen industry. Annie is a purpose-driven, authentic leader who is driven by her “why”. She has a genuine passion for connecting with under-represented groups to bring diverse stories to life.
