HOBSON LEAVY is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Sorenson as Chief Executive Officer of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
Vanessa is a highly accomplished business leader with more than 30 years of leadership experience across Microsoft and Spark New Zealand. She brings a proven track record in organisational leadership, transformation, innovation, commercial growth, and building high-performing teams. Throughout her career, she has led large and complex organisations across New Zealand and Australia, overseeing significant revenue portfolios and driving large-scale technology and business transformation initiatives.
Most recently, Vanessa served as Microsoft’s Global Partner Leader for Australia New Zealand and Managing Director of Microsoft New Zealand, where she led partner ecosystems generating more than $4 billion in partner-led revenue impact and played a key role in advancing New Zealand’s digital and technology capability.
In addition to her executive leadership experience, Vanessa has held a number of governance roles across education and community organisations, bringing strong expertise in strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, and organisational transformation.
