Lead Northpower’s digital transformation, enterprise technology strategy and set high-performance deliverables across the IT function to support the next phase of growth.
Northpower is entering an exciting period of growth. The business has a range of business including the regulated business Network Distribution and Fibre and a large Energy Services contracting business and Generation including Solar and Hydro.
With annual revenue exceeding $600 million, more than 1,600 employees across 15 locations and significant capital investment planned over the coming decade, technology will play an increasingly important role in enabling operational performance, customer outcomes and future growth. Northpower is now seeking a Chief Information Officer to lead the next evolution of its digital, data and technology capability.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a rare opportunity to shape enterprise technology strategy while leading a transformation that will influence every part of the organisation.
Northpower has invested in capable people, modern platforms and strong digital foundations. The opportunity now is to build on this platform by creating greater enterprise alignment, strengthening governance, establishing enterprise architecture and ensuring technology becomes a true strategic enabler of the business.
This is not a role for someone content maintaining the status quo.
We are seeking a proven change agent, a leader who can establish a clear vision, build organisational momentum and translate strategy into measurable outcomes. You will lead the Digital function while partnering delivery across the business working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board and business leaders to build a high-performing technology function recognised for enabling commercial success.
Success will come through your ability to influence, collaborate and lead change. You will be equally comfortable shaping enterprise strategy, developing high-performing teams, strengthening cyber and technology governance, and communicating complex technology concepts in a way that inspires confidence across the organisation.
You will likely bring:
• Significant leadership experience leading enterprise technology or digital functions.
• Enjoy moving at pace with a proven track record delivering large-scale technology transformation and organisational change.
• Experience establishing enterprise strategy, governance and high-performing technology teams.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence Boards and Executive teams.
• A down to earth relationship management style, with the ability to unite diverse stakeholders behind a shared vision.
Northpower is proudly based in Whangārei, however we will welcome interest from candidates located in surrounding regions who are comfortable with travel.
This is a rare opportunity to define the future direction of digital, data and technology at Northpower and help shape the next chapter of one of New Zealand’s leading infrastructure organisations.
