Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kate Baguley as Chief Financial Officer and Damian Mathews as Chief Operating Officer to Auckland Real Estate Trust (ARE).
“Both are key appointments for ARE as the business continues to expand. Given the active operations of the business, the need for continuing development of the management team to meet the requirements of the business and the expectations of our investors is essential. The respective skills and experience that Kate and Damian bring to the company will enhance all aspects of our business model, allowing us to further develop what is already a successful real estate model” said Andrew Saunders, Executive Chairman of ARE.
Kate Baguley is a high calibre finance professional with more than 20 years’ post-qualification experience in dynamic industries including hotels, media, tourism and entertainment businesses. Kate brings a strong understanding of and experience in the hospitality and property management sectors, most recently as the Director of Finance at Hilton Hotels NZ.
Damian is a senior executive, working at top global banks and sovereign wealth funds with an investment bias. With a strategic and commercial focus, his experience in implementing active corporate strategies allows ARE to continue to develop its business model whilst maintaining a focus on investment outcomes. Prior to joining ARE, he was a senior executive with a sovereign wealth sponsored investment company in the EMEA region and has worked with ABN AMRO and CBA in senior financial roles.
Kate commented that she is excited to join the ARE/Alberts team and is looking forward to being a part of their growth plans over the coming years. “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to again be involved in something that challenges and redefines the ‘normal’.
