Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce that the NORTHPORT GROUP has appointed Rhys Jones as Group CEO.
Rhys will succeed retiring Northport Chief Executive Jon Moore in July. In the role, he will lead the ongoing integration of Northport and Marsden Maritime Holdings, while helping unlock the potential of the combined port and land assets to support commercial growth and strengthen economic development across Northland.
Rhys brings more than 20 years of experience across the port and marine infrastructure sector. His background spans strategy and trade development, major capital project delivery, marine and landside infrastructure, port operations, and asset management. Rhys also has a strong understanding of the broader port ecosystem and a proven ability to deliver complex commercial outcomes, developed during eight years at Darwin Port where he held a series of progressively senior leadership roles. Rhys and is family will be relocating from Darwin to Whangarei in the coming months.
