Hobson Leavy is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Knight to the role of Chief Executive for the Gas Industry Company.
“We were fortunate to have the choice of several outstanding candidates, and I’m pleased Andrew has accepted the role,” says Gas Industry Co’s Chair Jim Bolger.
Mr Knight was a Director of Gas Industry Co from November 2012 to November 2016. He is an experienced Chief Executive who has held a range of executive management roles in the energy industry including with New Zealand Oil & Gas, Vector Limited, the NGC Holdings Limited Group of Companies, The Australian Gas Light Company and Fletcher Challenge Energy. Those roles included management of gas exploration and production, gas transmission, gas wholesale and metering businesses. Mr Knight’s early career was spent with Coopers & Lybrand.
“We look forward to working with Andrew, who will join Gas Industry Co on 19 March 2018” says Mr Bolger.
The appointment follows the resignation last December of its Chief Executive for the last 7 years, Steve Bielby. Mr Bolger acknowledged Steve’s excellent contribution and, while his resignation is a loss, said Steve had set up a great foundation for the Company’s ongoing role in effective sector governance.
