Hobson Leavy is pleased to announce Grant Allerby has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer at The Co-operative Bank.
Grant Allerby has extensive experience in the New Zealand banking sector with a strong background in credit risk and compliance.
Grant has been with The Co-operative Bank since 2016, initially joining as Head of Credit. For the last twelve months, Grant has been Acting General Manager Risk, Legal and Governance, with a broad remit across AML/fraud, operational risk, credit, information security, legal and governance. During his time in this position, he has focused on enhancing the Bank’s risk profile and continuous improvement with respect to regulatory reporting, to support better decision making amongst the Board.
Grant’s career has traversed a range of risk roles across New Zealand’s major banks. He has experienced continued progression and increased leadership responsibilities over his thirty years in financial services.
