Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) invests $3.2 billion annually in the tertiary education system. With the integration of Careers New Zealand in July 2017, and an ambitious strategy to regenerate the sector, TEC is restructuring its entire organisation to meet these challenges. Following a period of consultation TEC is now seeking to appoint the new role of Deputy Chief Executive – Delivery.
The Deputy Chief Executive – Delivery is expected to work proactively and creatively to build relationships with key stakeholders. The role will lead the customer facing unit of the organisation and is responsible for the implementation/delivery of all TEC’s products and services, relationship management, performance management, and monitoring. A critical role for TEC the Deputy Chief Executive – Delivery will lead the outward facing work for the organisation and will be seen as the champion of the careers, investment and monitoring components of TEC. With a focus on the organisation’s commitment to customer service, they will lead the largest team within TEC (around 100 FTEs). The successful candidate is likely to have demonstrated substantial experience and success at a senior executive level. They will have exceptional business and commercial acumen, negotiation skills and political savvy. They will have a proven track record of being able to build and develop relationships with key customers and have strong personal drive, integrity and commitment to TEC.
